Sarasota Yacht & Ship is the exclusive dealer for EdgeWater Power Boats on the Central West Coast of Florida, from South Tampa Bay to Boca Grande. This area includes the communities of Palmetto, Bradenton, Sarasota, Osprey, Venice, Englewood, Placida, Charlotte Harbor, and Punta Gorda.

Unlike most other boats on the market, we utilize proprietary SPI (Single Piece Infusion) Technology. Vinylester resin is chemically bonded in a close-mold vacuum infusion process that bonds the hull with composite structural beams, creating a single structural unit. The result is a stronger, safer and more efficient boat that's just plain better. By focusing intensely on safety, EdgeWater let's you focus on making the most of every moment on the water.

Our boats are used by serious sportsmen, active families and commercial clients who demand practical features, reliability and durability. That's why we strive to build the safest, most versatile boats imaginable. Our boats are great for fishing, diving, skiing, cruising and anything else you could possibly want to do on the water. Our Boats are ones that handle exceptionally well in a wide variety of sea conditions.

At the heart of our company is a philosophy that deeply thoughtful design and intelligent engineering will produce a uniquely superior product. A strongly held conviction that quality matters goes into our Boats. By carefully focusing on the needs of our customers and drawing from a network of talent and expertise, EdgeWater delivers a high level of usability, technological advancement and overall boating enjoyment. Innovative and technologically advanced, EdgeWater’s Power Boats outperform every other boat in their class.

Critical to ensuring a safe, superior ride is building a Deep V Hull that is rigid and strong enough to stand up to the punishment of long offshore runs.

We know the seas can be unpredictable and every excursion onto the water has the potential of becoming uncomfortable. For these reasons EdgeWater has developed some of the most advanced Deep V Hull structural designs on the water.

Unsinkable safety - While not every EdgeWater will venture beyond the inlet, every model is designed to do just that.

Unsinkable Closed-Cell Foam Flotation

Our first priority is building the safest boats on the water. Below our decks, all structural components and spaces are filled with 100% composite closed-cell PVC foam for maximum buoyancy and level flotation to make them unsinkable. Every EdgeWater, from the smallest to the largest, is completely self-bailing and has exceeded all industry standards for Unsinkable boats.

Deep Secure Hulls and Gunwales

EdgeWater's deep-V hulls are designed to run safely in the most extreme offshore environments. Decks and cockpits are also deeper and feature oversized rails and handholds for the ultimate in Unsinkable security.

Super-Strong, Proprietary Structural Systems

EdgeWater has developed some of the most advanced structural designs on the water. Utilizing opposing right angle beams, the composite foam and fiberglass reinforced stringers are permanently bonded to the hull, deck and transom to create a super-strong, one-piece, Unsinkable boat that can endure even the most extreme stresses.

Cutting-Edge Construction Innovation

On our largest, unsinkable boats, where weight is critical for superior hull performance and fuel economy, Single Piece Infusion® achieves a strength-to-weight ratio significantly greater than on open-molded, polyester boats.* In SPI, our high-density foam grid is vinylester resin infused at the same time as the hull to create an incredibly strong, one-piece structure.

Highly-Reliable Components

Every component is carefully selected for long life, easy maintenance and uncompromising reliability. We feel that a high level of reliability is critical to safety on the water. That's why every EdgeWater is rigged with industrial-grade electrical and plumbing components and all hardware is of the highest-grade materials and over-sized for increased durability.

Performance that's Unmatched

Like any high-performance vehicle, the test of engineering excellence is in the ride, and on this point EdgeWater is unmatched.

Superior Talent + Tools

Learn more about how EdgeWater's intelligent design process leads to stylish boats that deliver superior performance on the water.

Unlike most other boat builders, our boats are developed through an intense collaboration using the latest CAD and 3D modeling technology.

Our engineers work to carefully coordinate, design and simulate every aspect of our boats before the final design is approved.

Marine Concepts, the world leader in precision fiberglass tooling, further refines and improves our design. This innovative tooling company constructs the patterns and molds using the latest CNC and 5 axis routing equipment, giving us the most precise molds possible.

Key suppliers also take part in the early stages of product development. Structural Composites, a company at the forefront of marine structural engineering, works with our engineers on laminate and structural design. Our composite, aluminum, steel and electrical suppliers also contribute their expertise to the process.

By including these resources in the early stages of development, we create new products faster and to a high degree of technological precision.

Hull Design & Performance

Like any high-performance vehicle, the test of engineering excellence is in the ride, and on this point EdgeWater is unmatched with its Hull Design and Performance. From our smallest tender to our biggest offshore center console, every EdgeWater rides on a uniquely innovative variable deadrise Hull Design and proprietary structural system for maximum performance and safety. Created by a team of the industry's most respected engineers, naval architects and marine designers, it reflects more than four decades of research, testing and refinement.

Variable Deadrise "Deep-V" Hull

With a sharp entry point, the deep-V Hull Design found on all EdgeWater boats has a high entry angle that delivers a sooth dry ride by displacing water away from the boat while a wide bow flair keeps it from rolling back into the boat. Our hulls also feature a higher degree of deadrise at the transom for added stability.

Large Reverse Chines

The large chines of the Hull Design on an EdgeWater deflect water down and under the hull, acting as two points on which it balances. These points provide a great deal of dynamic stability for a more solid ride while also increasing lift and reducing drag for a faster more efficient running hull.

Padded Running Surface

A clean, flattened keel area at the stern of the boat improves running at higher speeds by letting the boat sit back on the pad, providing a comfortable bow angle and not locking the boat into an undesirable, low running angle.

High Transom Angle

Through the incorporation of a higher transom angle, the engines can be tucked under the boat for getting up on plane quickly and by trimming the engines up, control the bow angle without depending solely on trim tabs.

Secondary Chine

The long sweeping lines of an EdgeWater make it pleasing to the eye, but they also serve a greater purpose. The style lines provide stiffness to the sides of the hull and act as secondary water deflectors, keeping water from running up the sides.

Higher Freeboard and Wider Beam

EdgeWater's benefit from and are typified by their higher profile on the water. A deep freeboard creates a safer cockpit while the wide beam creates a roomier and drier running boat. While not every EdgeWater will venture beyond the inlet, every model is designed to do just that.

On the Edge

Built for the Best

Edgewater proudly provides the strength and speed required by the U.S. Navy and U.S. Coast Guard. One of the things that makes our boats unique is that we build our Offshore Boats on the same production line as we build our boats for local law enforcement agencies, the U.S. Navy and military forces around the world. We take what we learn from these customers and integrate it into our recreational boats, improving everything from structure to hardware.

Real World R&D

Watch the video to learn more about how EdgeWater's semi-custom capabilities add to our versatility and reflect our commitment to customer satisfaction. EdgeWater is constantly improving and creating new products through our commercial offshore boats division. By exposing our commercial boats to some of the world's most demanding applications and environments, we learn new ways to make our recreational products safer and more reliable. Our composite, aluminum, steel and electrical suppliers also contribute their expertise to the process.

Technological Directive

While we continue to maintain small-company agility, responsiveness and customer focus, our long standing partnership with the North Technologies Group Company is a driving force in the design philosophy and product development of all EdgeWater Boats.

As a consortium of associated marine businesses, the North Technologies Group brings a level of technical expertise and engineering experience unrivaled in the marine industry. Technologies developed within the Group can be found on everything from America's Cup racing yachts to the space shuttle and have made a dramatic impact on EdgeWater's ability to introduce highly innovative and intelligently designed boats.

Single Piece Infusion®

In SPI, vinylester resin is vacuum infused into our grid structures and the Deep V Hull laminate in one step. By infusing them together, the resin in the grid cures at the exact same time as the resin in the laminate, making the entire hull bond as one. This process achieves a strength-to-weight ratio greater than on open-molded, polyester boats.

These proprietary technologies produce self-bailing, Deep V Hull boats with levels of strength, durability and flotation that are unparalleled. EdgeWater's focus on technological advancement and modern construction techniques has placed us well ahead of our competitors and continues to drive our customers satisfaction and their enjoyment of our product.
